Re-purposed Plastic Bottle

Hello sweeties!

Since I have decided to really learn about MAKE-UP, I need to have a container wherein I can put some make-up brushes. Instead of buying, I re-purposed an empty plastic bottle and turned it into a charming brush container!

16831159_10210886900264514_7245647209270381149_n

I don’t have a white paint so I just made use of my printed papers(like a mod podge).

Materials:

empty(softdrinks)bottle, printed papers, old buttons, broken rose earring, pearl bead, craft knife, scissors, white glue, small brush, stick glue, marker

How to:

  1. I cleaned the plastic bottle and removed the label.
  2. I marked the bottle as a gauge for cutting.
  3. I cut it with a craft knife

4. I traced first from that part(to cover)of the bottle which has a curve until the down edge.

5. I cut the paper then on their edges(up and down) I made small cuttings so when i start gluing to the bottle, it can somehow follow the shape especially the curvy edge.

Initially, there will be wrinkles from the paper but they will somehow go after awhile once you cover them up with glue.

6. Then, I covered the remaining part of the bottle with the same process as number 5.

7. I made use of that broken rose earring as an accent then added a pearl bead and red  and blue buttons.

My Version of a very simple and light SMOKEY EYES :P

Hello sweeties!

I am back again with a new look(lols)! I am just wondering why I waited too long(like I am already 44 years old now) to get a bit of interest in putting on make-up. My 18 years old daughter says I am crazy. Well, being a mom doesn’t mean you don’t need to be beautiful anymore, right? Atleast, be beautiful for yourself, not just for the others to see. Aside from crafting, this is my one new hobby. I know I am poor in doing this because I am just a beginner and most of the products that I use are the not so cheap ones and hand-me down, so what to expect(do I need to explain? lols!) Anyways, I am doing this just for fun not to flaunt.

For mommies like me who are interested in simple or not so complicated application of make-up you can refer to my initial post  Simple Make-up Tutorial for women who don’t know about make-up,like me!. In this look , I followed the same steps except that I used  gold as a base and dark brown for the outer lid on eyes then nude lipstick.

Note: My phone camera is really not good, sorry. The truth is the make-up looks good in real(my friends said). I don’t use false eyelashes because  I find them heavy. Less is better :P.

Simple Make-up Tutorial for women who don’t know about make-up,like me!

Hello, sweeties!

This post is going to be different and really the first time that I did in my entire life. Honestly, I am not a MAKE-UP person, I mean that one who really uses so much on the face like a full make-up thing. I just wear a BB cream and lipstick(of course with eyebrows and winged-eyeliner)and that’s it!

Today, I dared to use some additional stuffs like pressed powder, contour pallet and blush-on pallet(which are hand-me down from a friend), white and brown eyeliner, highlighter and concealer. OMG!

This is the finished product and it is up to you judge, sweeties.

Down below photos will be the steps on how I achieved this look.

Note: I am not a make-up guru but I am so resourceful (lols!).

Re-purposed Tin Can(Valentine’s Day gift)

Hi, sweeties!

It is 5 days away to Valentine’s day! Excited? Not me :'(. I am single and I am happy. Anyways, I want to share what I made last night as a Valentine’s gift to a friend. Last time, she mentioned that she wants something that she can stuff her precious things. Since, I am broke, I thought of gifting her that but in a most pocket friendly way :P.

There was this old tin can which was just lying in my cupboard(perfume packaging from Body Shop). I thought of making it into something useful so I can gift it to her. So, I came up with this (I guess) pretty vintage inspired re-purposed tin can.

20170208_225840-01-01

Materials:

tin can, kraft paper(you can use any printed paper also depending on the design that you want), paper napkins, music note printed paper, fabric lace, pearl beads, white glue, thin brush, stick glue, pencil, scissors, needle and thread, any printed word that you want, I used “HAPPINESS”, jute string and button

How to:

16473674_10210812282239110_8395504543153099162_n16508348_10210812282159108_1677456302153461093_n16508971_10210812283039130_1597518292454195917_n16603034_10210812282279111_3898625979414585125_n16508544_10210812282439115_8347571825873934087_n16603144_10210812283159133_6899551187742331785_n

After covering the lid, from top to side around, I started accentuating it.

16508490_10210812283199134_7264298667908684126_n

On how I made the spiral rose, you can refer here http://tallystreasury.com/2011/05/paper-orchids-and-spiralled-paper-roses/

16508881_10210812283639145_2802582109509590870_n

I used a paper napkin(which I got from a restaurant 😛 ^_^)in making the spiralled paper rose then I glued a pearl bead in the center of it. I made three of them.

Then I started to work on the lid by gluing halfway center across a fabric lace then placed the three flowers beside it. I cut a butterfly and a feather from the music note printed paper. Also her initial which is “M” with a heart on it(stitched around) I added a jute string on the feather’s stem and a button on top of it. Then I cut the word Happiness.

PRESTO!

#DIY Sharpie Mugs

Hi, Sweeties!

Actually, this post was supposed to be posted in December but since I became too busy, I totally forgot about it. Sorry again 😦

These Sharpie Mugs were ordered by a friend to gift officemates on their Christmas party.

14642580_10209636004392899_382304466_n

Materials:

Sharpies, cheap white mugs, huge cooking vessel with a lid(if no oven), ethyl alcohol, pieces of cotton balls, pencil, blank paper, scissors

How to:

Note: I don’t have an oven. I baked them in a huge cooking vessel with a lid on medium to low fire for an hour 😛

  1. I washed the mugs to remove dirt then dry.
  2. I browsed on the internet for some cute designs as inspiration for my mugs designs.
  3. I directly drew on the mugs. I used the ethyl alcohol dropped in a piece of cotton ball in erasing when it was needed.*You can also draw your design first on a piece of paper then scribble VERY HARD the backside(of the drawing) then place the paper on top of the area of the mug where you want the design to be placed with the scribbled part under then start tracing over your drawing(like stenciling). The pencil led will get stuck on the mug which will give you the chance to trace that using your sharpie and get an awesome outcome! SMART!
  4. I let them dry overnight then started baking not in an oven but on a stove(I am so smart 😛 ). I heated the vessel first then filled in my mugs and covered. At first, it was in medium fire then I lowered it. I waited for 1 hour then cooled them down. If you have an oven, you are lucky! The  oven baking varies in time. I am really not sure. I am just sharing how I baked mine.
  5. Tested them for washing. I hand-washed them with dishwashing soap and sponge but I get rid of the design as much as possible. It worked. The designs didn’t fade!

I hope you learned something unusual ^_^, sweeties!

#DIY Mod Podge Shoe/Shirt Boxes(repurposed)

HELLO! Yes, it is me again, sweeties.

I really want to be productive while sitting home. I was clearing some unwanted stuffs and I saw these empty shoe box and shirt boxes(which I got from an online shop). I admit my crafting tools/stuffs are everywhere! I barely get time to nicely keep them because I am a working woman and I only get a little bit of time during my off days(and that is just once a week). This is also the reason why I am on and off in posting and showcasing my DIY ideas or how you may call it(lols). I am just waiting for something at this time that is why I am a free woman for couple and couple of days!! Yey!

Ok, so here it is now. I am presenting my new repurposed items where I can organize and stuff my crafting tools and the likes.

16143168_10210684980416644_5745099016010938221_n

Materials:

Empty boxes, printed papers(got the prints online ^_^ downloaded and copy pasted them in an A4 size paper then print!), lace for the accent, glue(I just used an ordinary white glue)a brush, glue stick, pencil for tracing and masking tape(optional).

YES, THIS IS ME 😛

16114270_10210684989216864_7118683739244365212_n16195233_10210684985016759_2826541993533089553_n

How to:

  1. I traced the size of every corner of the boxes that needed to be covered then cut.
  2. I applied a good a mount of glue then pasted the paper on each part(I did not cover the inside because I am a big time lazy specimen!)
  3. You can think of how you want to mix match your printed papers or create a design out of them like what I did. Example is that music note prints. I cut some rose prints and pasted them on top of that. Then on the other box, I pasted two different prints and on the third box, I glued a piece of lace. It is up to you. BE CREATIVE!
  4. I poured an amount of glue with a sufficient part of water which I think I could apply for the whole three boxes. This will give the finish of a mod podge. Left to dry for sometime then PRESTO!

16265856_10210684982376693_4626971211782129_n16174561_10210684981376668_3447511295236621321_n16265509_10210684980936657_6736693944640165565_n16266045_10210684980136637_6304774565436216413_n

You can now start digging for old/empty shoe boxes or any box which you can make use of sweeties. I guarantee you, they are really pretty and functional. I am just beginning to stuff my things in them and I am so happy!

I hope you liked this post.

#DIY Mobile Pouch(repurposing)

Hello, sweeties!

It was a busy holiday that’s why I was not able to share any posts at all. Sorry :(. At the moment, I am at home hatching egg so I thought of making something(lol). One of my necklaces got spoiled. I felt bad because I got it from China and I love it(though I did not use it much)! It has this knitted flower pendant and red pearl for its chain. So, to make use of them, I thought of accentuating them into my mobile pouch. Brilliant!

16298932_10210684990736902_1988561787768316657_n

16195965_10210684991576923_6708455865662792191_n

Materials:

Felt cloth, lace, glue stick, needle and thread(for stitching the pouch together), button and the knitted flower and pearl beads

16174857_10210684990056885_8563750402409027402_n

How to:

  1. Traced the size of my mobile into the back of the felt cloth(half inch wider for the three side since the opening is not included in stitching) then mark a bit outside as a guide to where to start the half inch as I stitch along then cut.

Note: Felt cloth should be two pieces of the same size

2.  After cutting, I stitched the felt together.

3.  Glued the beads just below the opening edge followed by the lace and the flower in        one corner below.

4. Stitched a button in the backside and a loop of lace(stitched from inside of the felt cloth)so I can close the opening for my mobile not to slip out then PRESTO!

16174955_10210684992216939_7803747607714196474_n

I hope you find it cute sweeties because I do!
